WHY GO

Discover sculpted topiary, woodland walks and a Gothic Revival castle exterior in Elvaston’s spacious historic park.

Step into a landscape of imaginative rockwork, sculpted evergreens and open parkland at Elvaston. William Barron’s nineteenth-century garden designs give the grounds their distinctive character, with the Golden Gates and Moorish Temple adding memorable details to a wander. At the heart of the estate stands James Wyatt’s Gothic Revival castle, framed by historic gardens and mature trees. Explore the grounds, pause for a picnic and enjoy the castle from outside; interior visits depend on separately advertised openings.
